MWI Representative Raising Awareness of Pet Obesity
Obesity is no longer just a problem for humans, but for pets as well. It's estimated that 44% of dogs and 57% of cats are overweight. To raise awareness about this issue, Brad Friedman with MWI Veterinary Supply rode his bicycle 175 miles from Parkview Pet Clinic in Glendale, CA, to Coffee Road Animal Hospital in Bakersfield, CA. Thanks to all the practices implementing pet weight management programs along Brad's route and to Pfizer, Purina, Sogeval, VPL, Kong, Lloyd and Van Beek for their support.

Free Personalized Incidence Maps- Heartworm, Lyme, E. Canis & Anaplasmosis:
IDEXX's Dogs and Ticks website highlights the number of reported positive cases of ehrlichiosis (E.canis), Lyme disease, heartworm disease and anaplasmosis in dogs across all regions of the United States and down to the county level. Because so many dogs go untested for tick-borne diseases, the actual number of dogs infected by ticks is likely many times higher than what is shown. Display these maps to help increase awareness of the threat of tick and mosquito-borne diseases in your area. Maps provide reported Ehrlichia, Lyme and heartworm positives from more than 10,000 veterinary clinics, telephone surveys and IDEXX Reference Laboratories' results collected from the year 2001 to the present. Reported Anaplasma positives are from IDEXX Reference Laboratories and the results of the 2007 IDEXX Incidence Study. More... |
